Ok so i have been busy and very slack over the past few months. Today i have listed a few old wares on the website. Next week i will be listing some new handmade s . I am thinking of going a little creamer with my handmade s. I think it is because i have changed houses and my new house lends itself to a more white creamer palette. I don't want to go really shabby because that is not me. I want to be somewhere between Prim Prairie and sort of shabby if that makes sense.

I will still be finding vintage bits and bobs . I have heaps of them i have had stored in boxes that i need to go through and some will be going on the website.
But let me know what you think about the new handmades when i get around to listing them because i would loooove to hear from you.

I am listing long overdue New Goodies on the website today. I am listing some items now and some items tonight. Due to the camera batteries going flat while taking all the photos.lol... It happens every time. I wish i would remember to charge them the day before.

Holidays are Over....

Ok so my holiday finished last Sunday and i have worked like a mad woman to catch up this week. Here are some photos of Cairns and a little bit up in Port Douglas.. We had a great time..Well i did anyway Darren studied all week then sat exams on Thursday and Friday.. I did not want to come home...lol..The beaches a wonderful up that way but i loooove the rain forest heaps more..

What's Happening In My World!!!

Well here at my home it has been a crazy start to the year. I have had my 17 year old son move out of home for the first time and starting his first real full time job. He will be 18 in 4 weeks. But he still returns to eat and borrow everything. I think he has worked out that home was a pretty good place after all....lol..... and real work is sometimes hard not as easy as when Mum and Dad are paying for everything.

But i have claimed his old room as my new work room ...that's great for me. I'm still trying to find where i packed everything in when i moved it all . This has been an interesting task some days..lol..

Now for my next lot of news.....I have been conned by one of my good friends to work as a Merchandiser 3 days most weeks. It has been quite fun and for those 3 days a week i am on the road from 7am until about 6pm. I have been doing this for about a month and It has turned out to be a great job but it takes away from my time i have to create. So i will be burning the midnight oil here some nights to get items made. I love to be busy and will have no problems keeping up with both. I can still be contacted everyday by you all if you need something or just email and i will get back to you as soon as possible.

I will still be adding new goodies nearly every week and if not every week every second week .

New Goodies have been added to the website. I have heaps of Easter Bunnies and Items to go on next week as well.. So be sure to check them out.

A Big Christmas Hello To You All.

Well Christmas is upon us an what a delightful time of year.

A time to spend with family and good friends.

A time to forgive and a time to love all the people who are special to you.

It has been a huge year at Tanya's Prim Thyme Designs.

I would like to say a big Thank You to all my wonderful customers both old and new.

Without you all in my life it would not be the same.

I will be taking a little break from the 21st of December 2009 until the 5th of January 2010.

My last post out day will be the 21st of December 2009. So if you would like anything from the website be quick to get your orders in.

I will still be around between the dates above but will not be doing post outs.

2010 will be an exciting new year here at Tanya's Prim Thyme Designs with heaps of new stock lines and handmades for you all.

New Goodies will be listed on the 5th of January 2010.

Well now i feel old....My baby has had his last day of Grade 12..Gee time flies..It seems like just yesterday he was a little bundle of joy as a new born..We had a wonderful night at the formal but it was a very warm night..

Shaun now has the big wide world at his feet to explore..Love you Buster....Gee to be 17 again..lol..NOT.

He looked amazing in his white striped suit and Kaitlyn his girlfriend is such a sweet young lady and looked amazing also..

The car is my Uncle Boys it is an original condition old Ford Falcon it is the best old car in the world. It was polished so amazing and fabby..

Oh and yes i did wear a dress..lol..

Well it has been a huge month or so getting ready for the Christmas in the Country Market at Gatton.

The opening night last night was wonderful as usual except for the huge thunder storm my friend Val and i drove through to get there.{lol we are very serious about crafting } There was soooo much rain and lightening that we could not see the road in front of us most of the way. But we made it SAFE and had a delightful night.

I purchased the most wonderful clay and fabric dolls. I had to have two of them ....lol... They are made by Jo Wholohan from http://woodlandswhimsy.blogspot.com/ . Her work is really really wonderful. I could have purchased everything she had for sale. Oh and i met Jo she is also a very sweet lady. I will show you photos of my new doll in my next post.

The craft market finishes tomorrow afternoon so if you live close to Gatton pop in and have a look see. You will find heaps of fabby products for sale.

On Sunday morning i got to hand feed this sweet little wild Butcher Bird.

He flew right up to my deck table where i was having coffee. I could not believe that i could hand feed him a few times. I even had enough time to run inside and grab the camera and take some photos.

It Is Warm In Queensland

Well the weather has warmed up in Queensland this week. So much for the rest of winter . Today it feels like the middle of November here.

I don't don't mind though. Bring on the hot weather i say..

I LOVE IT ....

Winter and i don't get on too well. It makes me sluggish and i can never seem to get warm.

But my Cat Bubbles does not like the hot weather . I found him sleeping on the old 4x4 today in the shade of a big old tree. He was most annoyed when i took photos of him and woke him up...lol..

Warm weather might make him feel better. He has been to the vet and stayed over night a few weeks back. Seems he has pneumonia. He like the medicine so that is great.

When warm weather comes i also lovvvve the flowers that come with it. But my nose does not. I have been sneezing now for about a week. Hay Fever is a crazy thing . It is quite dusty here so the tablets i take are not working very well..

Anyhoo i LOOOOOOOOOVE the warm .....

I Love Round Head Dolls

OK this is my first round head Annie Doll...I think i will be making heaps of these....They turn out so sweet..I didn't use a pattern...Just thought i would sew a head to start with to see if it would work...Well her stitched nose is a bit wonky but it suits her....

I love how the head is so firm compared to other dolls..She has been stained abut 4 times so her colour is just right...

My next round head doll will be dark in colour i think.......

A Big Easter Hello To You All

I can not believe it is Easter already. This year seems to be getting away from me very quickly.

My son is in Grade 12 this year and has turned 17 ..boy i feel old now..

But I am not really it is just all in my mind..lol.

Things have been busy here with me helping out my Mother and Step dad while they have been away.....But things are slowly getting back to normal here.Well as normal as they can be in my crazy life..lol

Well i hope you all have a wonderful Easter..I hope you can all find peace , joy and love with your family..

10 Things I have Learnt in 2008

I have learnt that no matter how broken your heart feels the sun will still come up tomorrow.

I have learnt that things can get very bad very quickly but if I am breathing I will be OK.

I have learnt that no matter how strong you think you are someone out there is always stronger than you are.

I have learnt that you have everything you need in your life you just have to know how to use it and be happy with it.

I have learnt that no matter how busy you are ..take time to chat to that person who you see. Because it might be the last day to chat to them that you will ever get…

I have learnt to forgive.

I have learnt that your family will be there when you need them no matter what has happened in the past.

I have learned that some things and some people from the past never change .

I have learnt GOD is there when you really need him and you don’t need to ask him.

How To Rust Tin Items !!!!!

How to Rust Primitive Bells, Safety Pins, or Other Tin Items

Method #1............
I am going to share a primitive rust recipe that works well for me. First, place your items to be rusted into a container I use a jar for little items or bells or a big bucket for bigger items.... Pour enough bleach and apple cider vinegar into the container to cover the items you are rusting.I use equal parts of both..Pour in some rock salt... Let it sit like this for about 24 hours. I then drain the out the bleach mixture leaving the metal items still damp in the jar or bucket. Put the jar or bucket out in the sun to dry, uncovered, and the metal items in it will rust as they dry. It is the air that makes them rust.. When you mix up the bleach mixture DO NOT inhale it because it is very yuk and DO NOT put your hands in it either..Your hands will stain black...

Method #2............

First, place your items to be rusted into a container that has a lid . Pour enough bleach into the container to cover the items you are rusting, and then put the lid on. Let it sit like this for about 24 hours. Leaving the metal items still damp in the jar. Next cover them with cider vinegar and add in a healthy dose of salt. Cover again, and let sit overnight. Drain the mixture out leaving the damp bells/safety pins/what you have in the jar or bucket. Put the jar out in the sun to dry, uncovered, and the metal items in it will rust as they dry.This way is less toxic ...

My Crazy Life!!!!!

Well i have not posted much in the last few weeks. I think I'm still trying to get over the shock of loosing my FIL so suddenly..I haven't felt like sewing much and have been staying at home and watching the world pass me by...But i have to get my act together soon. Can't keep walking around with all this on my mind ...

I have started working on my Christmas goodies for the website and for the craft fair at Gatton. I'm also working on some new birdhouses and game boards..So i hope they turn out well.

I have been rustin stuff up as well. I can't seem to leave things in a sliver colour..lol..I love them the more rusted the better..I have a heap of pie tins sitting out on the table on my deck to finish the rusty process... I also have a few tins just started in the rustin mixture..I will get them out tomorrow and see how they are going..
..I had better duck off now and wash up...yuk!!!

Checkout this cute little guy..I have a really great deck area at the back of my house just off the kitchen where i love to sit and work most days in the warm ...Most other days i have the magpies and the peewees there to help me out. They sit on the table and watch me or pick at the cats dry bikkies i leave out for my cat bubbles..

But today i got the surprise of my life when this little kookaburra came right up to the cats bowl beside me...

In the rush to get the camera he popped off to sit on the clothes line..He looks like a youngin so i'm sure he will be back..This little guy has made my day....I just love all the birds that we have in our yard and the wildlife around the place..The country is the best place to live by far....

I will see if i can get pics of the magpies next time but they don't like to have snap shots taken of them...lol...Believe me i have tried ....

I'm A Tad Bored With Life At the Moment

Today i have worked heaps on my crafting i also got a Newsletter out..Woohoo i have nearly caught up for the week..Ready to go again for next week. I am a tad over today and I'm now wishing i had had a nanny nap for a few moments this arvo. It is a public holiday day here for show day and i am home alone. You think i would be happy about that but i am a bit sick of being the only one left at home. With the hubby working away and my 16 year old never home..{ Anyone who has a teenager knows what that is like..}. But i guess i get heaps of work done while they are out.

Anyhoo i had better stop dribbling on about nothing. I just wish i could do something really exciting .I'm not sure what but something...

Anyhoo ..I hope you are all more excited about life than me ..

This is the sweetest rose in my mothers garden. The colours and the scent are just delightful. Her roses at the moment are all in bloom.
Mine on the other hand need water and to be sprayed for little bugs.I had better get to it very soon .
Mine do have some flowers but could have a lot more if i had more time to spend in the garden.

I've been tagged by Robby and I have to write 7 weird things about me......
Well this should be interesting!!!!

1* I don't like grated carrot but i like whole carrots....

2*I go over board talking when i'm nervous or meet new people and anything will come out of my mouth. I just can't stop talking...

3* People either LOVE ME OR HATE ME. Iam just that type of person...

4*THINKING.....THINKING.....THINKING.....Can you here my brain ticking over?????...lol....

4*I'll be right back.....Ok i have thought of something else....

4*When it's a full moon i have trouble sleeping...That's every full moon and while the moon is really bright. I don't know why...Yes i'll start howling now!!!!!

5*I am a night owl and can been heard cleaning my house at 2 o'clock on some nights..I never ever go to bed before midnight.

6* I believe in Ghosts...I've seen a few and they are real. Yes i'm a loon ....lol..

7*Last but not least I believe in miracles ...or maybe just the kindness of god......

Ok that's me now bring on the men and the little white jacket.....

My Wonderful Boy!!!!

This is a photo of my 16 year old baby. His name is Shaun and he is with his friend Amanda. He looks alot older than he is but he has always been a really grown up child.I am very lucky to have a good child with heaps of common sense.My son is the light of my life. He has the most delightful greenish eyes..

He has just started year 11 .Mind you he can be a little devil though. But if i remember rightly i was alot like him when i was his age.

RAIN!!!!! rain!!!!! RAIN!!!!!

It has not rained for so long in my part of the world that sometimes i forget what it's like. For the last two days we have received wonderful amounts of rain. We still need inches and inches more before i can water my garden again but i guess 3 inches is a start. Just thought i would share some pics of my little stream i had in my yard this after noon.

We have very little grass at the moment so the water filled up my front and back yard like a dam.It flooded all of the gutters but filled my tank that we use as the water for our house.

If only we could get rain like alot of other places up her in Queensland because most other parts are flooded . Heres hoping we get more rain like today over the next few weeks and i'll be doing the happy dance!!!!

Well the new year has begun and i'm still behind in my work. I have sooooo many new ideas floating around in my head it is hard to settle on just one at the moment......I hope you all have a delightful year for 2008 and that all you wish for this year comes true.

I have been trying to get patterns for my dolls written up for about 3 or 4 years now .....but i have started and now have about 6 dolls down on paper....lol....{IF YOU READ THIS ROBBY I HAVE STARTED PATTERNS....HA ...HA...}. My dear sweet friend Robby has been trying to get me to do this for sooo long and well they are on there way to being printed.

Anyhoo better stop dribbling on as there is so much for be to do today.

Primitive Crow , Pear and Rusty Goodies Vine Christmas Tree.....

Just thought i would show off my Primitive Vine Christmas Tree...I think i might just have this tree on display in my primitive collection for a long time maybe until next Christmas. I just loooove it sooooo much.

I have added pottery crows made by my friend Debi who is such a sweetie. I have also added pip berries , fabric pears, rusty stars , rusty bells and a rusty star to top it off...It sits in and olde rustic tea tin. I seem to be getting quit a collection of them in the shed so this fills one at least. Anyhoo... I better stop going on about my fab tree.

Oh by the way this Christmas Tree sits in my lounge room in my primitive Santa collection.

SPRING THYME!!!!!

It's spring time again and isn't it the most wonderful time of the year. I love the warm weather and I get heaps more work done in the spring and summer months than in winter. We had rain last week and it has greened the place up very well. It is still cool at night but i don't mind that.So Happy Spring Thyme to everybody!!! I hope you all enjoy it as much as i do.

WOW.... How cool is winter this year . In our area it has been SO chilly! I am not really a winter person . I guess it gives me heaps of time inside to catch up on my sewing and prims. I just love making and designing primitive crafts. I have been designing now for about 6 or 7 years as a hobby. I just love hearing feed back about my creations!!!! In 2 months i will be a full home bases business which has been a huge task to set up.

Along the way i have met soooo many wonderful people and have to thank them all for all there help.

I just love this blog idea so i can put my thoughts into words for you all to read. I will be adding heaps of ideas and what is going on with my new business so i can keep every body up to date up with how every thing is going.. Feel free to give comments on anything i write in my blog as it is all taken on board when i get a chance!!!!!
